MATCHING GRANT POLICIES:

 

TheAsianBridge Matching Grant program awards matching grants to families who are raising funds to finance an adoption from Asian countries including China, Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam and Cambodia.  For every dollar raised at a designated adoption fund-raiser, theAsianBridge will match that amount, up to $1,000.00. 

 

Families must actively participate in their own fund-raising, and are encouraged to involve family, friends and their community. Family fundraising events and/or a link to your family web site or blog can be posted on theAsianBridge web site by sending the information to ackermann95@att.net.

 

Grants are awarded on a case-by-case basis, based on their income and the circumstances of the family. Preference will be given to those applicants who are experiencing extraordinary hardship, whether it be on the part of the parents or the adoptive child. Families should demonstrate that they are continuing to make every effort to obtain funds from other sources.

 

Grants are awarded to qualified United States citizens regardless of marital status, race, creed or national origin.

 

Grant funds will be paid directly to qualified agencies providing adoption related services, but never directly to the family alone. Expenses include adoption agency fees (must have a 501(c)3 status), legal fees, home study fees, dossier preparation fees and travel expenses, etc.

 

Information provided on this application is transmitted in a secure fashion and held confidential. TheAsianBridge respects the privacy of individuals applying for a grant. The information you provide to us is used for no other purpose than the consideration of this grant application.

 

All applicants will be contacted to verify receipt of their application, and will receive a request for an update when the applications are about to be reviewed by theAsianBridge Selection Committee. All applicants will receive a phone call with the Selection Committee¹s final results.

 

If chosen to receive a grant, the family will be asked to send letters to 10 friends or family members, sharing with them the mission of theAsianBridge, and asking for their support. Grant recipients will also be asked to send a family picture and a short story about their adoption adventure. Pictures and stories will be posted on the ³Success Stories² portion of theAsianBridge web site.
